Plastribution recently visited Future Makers, a Nottingham-based creative studio and innovation hub transforming recycled plastics into high-quality, functional products for urban spaces, education, and business.
Future Makers specialises in collaborating with businesses to turn their plastic materials into bespoke, high-value products, from sustainable furniture to public installations, while also leading educational initiatives that inspire the next generation in circular design and environmental responsibility.
This visit marked an exciting step in a collaborative project that brings together sustainability, innovation, and design, demonstrating how the plastics industry can play a vital role in the Plastic Revolution.

As part of the visit, we successfully trialled Waterhaul’s Traceable Marine Plastic, a premium material made entirely from end-of-life fishing gear and ocean plastics. The trial showcased how post-consumer waste can be reimagined into valuable, practical, and inspiring products through creative design and advanced materials.
Following this successful trial, Future Makers will integrate the polymer into upcoming projects, including educational programmes with schools, colleges, and universities. These initiatives aim to close the loop on plastic waste while raising awareness of circular economy principles and future career pathways in sustainable manufacturing.
At Plastribution, we are committed to enabling these kinds of sustainable outcomes. Through our Sustainable Materials Portfolio, we provide access to a growing range of materials that support circular economy goals, reduce environmental impact, and meet the technical demands of real-world applications.
“This collaboration shows what’s possible when like-minded companies join forces to push innovation forward. It’s also a clear sign that sustainable materials aren’t just a goal for the future — they’re already making a real impact in today’s products and projects.”
— Dan Jarvis, Group Product Manager for Specialities, Plastribution
