20 October 2016 I Düsseldorf, Germany
Plastribution’s Managing Director, Mike Boswell, will be presenting at the KI Group Polymer Summit on Thursday 20 October at the forthcoming K Trade Fair 2016.
Entitled “Plastics markets in a changing world”, the conference consists of two sessions: the morning session will address Europe’s relationship with China, focussing on the ongoing supply of raw materials, the shift of business from Europe to China and the rise in Chinese M&A activity in Europe; the afternoon session entitled “Future Polymer Sourcing for Europe”, concentrates on European converters’ prospective feedstock supply – key topics include shale gas, alternative sources in Iran and the US, Europe post-Brexit and the diversification and customisation of polymer materials.
Alongside other leading industry experts, Mike will be taking to the stage at 3.20pm to present: “Business beyond Brexit: Future relations between the UK and European polymer sectors”.
In introducing his talk, Mike commented: “The EU is highly significant to the UK plastics sector both as a market for manufactured product but also as a source of plastic raw materials. It is essential that the UK has an orderly exit from the European Union for the health of our important sector and I pleased to be both chair of the BPF’s BREXIT committee and for this opportunity at Europe’s leading plastics event to put forward some of the key topics on access to the single market, access to skills, maintaining and developing legislation compatible with the EU and support for innovation and overseas business development.”
The conference takes place in the CCD Süd Congress Centre on the Düsseldorf exhibition site as part of the supporting program to K 2016. Up to 300 participants are anticipated to attend.
Following the papers and presentations, there will be an opportunity for discussion and for answering questions. The conference language will be English and attendance is free. Because of the limited number of seats, prior registration is required. Further information and details on registration are available online at www.ki-group.de/k2016-summit.
