About our products

Premix was founded in 1980 as a spin-off from the paint company Teknos. From its modest start as a local producer of black and white masterbatch, the company grew into one of the major players in the Nordic region and since 1983, the experience gained in dispersing carbon black has been utilised in the manufacture of electrically conductive thermoplastics. Premix is now the number one European supplier of conductive compounds. With production and product development facilities in the USA and several partners around the world, Premix is ideally placed to give customers a first-rate service irrespective of their geographical location.

The conductive plastic range covers grades made with various conductive fibres, like carbon and stainless steel, metals and metal-coated particles, inherently conductive polymers (ICPs), and inherently static dissipative polymers (IDPs).

Premix is the only company offering electrically conductive plastics as conductive as 300 siemens/cm and also with strict controlled resistance, e.g. at 108 ohm cm. These materials provide solutions to the problems caused by static electricity or electromagnetic interference.

The comprehensive product portfolio ranges covers the whole resistance spectrum from electrostatic dissipative IDP plastics to highly conductive EMI grades.

PRE-ELEC® electrically conductive plastics cover a wide polymer range, from commodity to engineering polymers.

Electrically conductive carbon-black-based PRE-ELEC® grades obtain excellent price-performance ratio and are primarily used in ATEX, ESD and metal replacement applications such as the automotive, chemical, electronic, and mining industries. They also find uses in medical applications, hazardous goods handling, special cables, and heating elements.

Carbon and steel-fibre based PRE-ELEC® grades are used in applications where sloughing is an issue but high stiffness and strength are required. Stainless steel-fibre plastics are also used in EMI-shielding applications.

PRE-ELEC® ESD plastics are intended for applications calling for controlled resistivity in permanent static dissipative applications. Their speed of dissipation is ideal for protecting sensitive devices. These translucent grades also offer colourability and can be used in clean-room applications.

PRESEAL® TPE plastics are unique materials offering extremely high conductivity. These are injection-mouldable and extrudable plastics for EMI shielding, gasket applications and housings, amongst others. PRESEAL® is an ideal material for demanding applications requiring high conductivity and are easy to process. The conductive filler is either silver-coated glass or nickel-coated graphite.

PRETHERM TPE compounds exhibit excellent thermal conductivity. They provide ideal solutions for heat dissipation in small electronics devices. The thermally conductive filler Boron Nitride gives good thermal conductivity without influencing the material’s insulating properties. It is a cost-effective solution for mass-production applications since the material is easy to process and is recyclable.
